On March 30, with the drizzle of the early spring, teacher and student representatives of the High School Affiliated to Shanghai University, together with leaders and teacher and student representatives of School of Qian Weichang, Shanghai University, went to Binhai Ancient Garden to give flowers to the statue of Qian Weichang and his wife to express the highest respect. Zhang Gaoyang, “the most beautiful high school student in the country” and “the president of students’ union”, made a speech on behalf of all students. She said, “As high school students in today’s peaceful era, we should not only cherish the happy life, but also understand our responsibility and historical mission to promote Mr. Qian’s spirit: No Fame, Profit or Regret, and Full love for people and motherland”.

On the eve of the Qingming Festival, school leaders, democratic parties and teacher and student representatives of the High School Affiliated to Shanghai University gathered in Qianweichang Square in honor of Mr. Qian. The student representative Yang Chenzi called on all students to remember the initial heart, keep inner peace, and work hard to make endless efforts for their ideals and the future of the country. Principal Lu Guanghua gave a flower basket to the bronze statue of Mr. Qian. Xu Haiyin, member of the Political Consultative Conference in Baoshan District and director of the China Democratic League Branch in the High School Affiliated to Shanghai University, deeply cherished the memory of the late famous scientist, educator, outstanding social activist, and outstanding leader of China Democratic League, who knew how to cooperate with the Chinese Communist Party in good faith and firm belief.
