To further develop students’ creative thinking, innovative practice, team work and communication skills, “2018 Weichang Innovative Talent Winter Camp of the High School Affiliated to Shanghai University” was successfully held in Shanghai University from January 24 to 30, 2018. The winter camp was hosted by Shanghai University Basic Education Group and the High School Affiliated to Shanghai University with the joint support of many divisions in Shanghai University including School of Communication, School of Mechatronics Engineering and Automation, School of Science, School of Liberal Arts, School of Life Sciences and School of Social Sciences. More than 140 students of our school took pre-university courses to make relevant subject researches and completed the project with a display of achievements.

Weichang Innovative Talent Winter Camp of the High School Affiliated to Shanghai University was student-centered and project-oriented. It aimed to attract students’ attention through interesting and challenging topics and inspire students’ curiosity and imagination. By means of teacher-student interaction and student-student interaction, the camp enabled students to quickly acquire new knowledge and synthetically apply relevant knowledge. The camp encouraged students to challenge themselves and take the initiative in learning, so that students could have a sense of accomplishment in the process of completing challenging tasks. Thereby, the camp enhanced students’ courage, confidence and ability.

The Weichang Innovative Talent Winter Camp further enhances students’ creative thinking ability, encourages them to overcome difficulties, and makes them explore new knowledge and apply the knowledge to solve practical problems.
