The High School Affiliated to Shanghai University is a sister school with Little Red School House and Elisabeth Irwin High School in New York, USA. In October 2017, a delegation of 21 teachers and students from the High School Affiliated to Shanghai University went to the United States for a 10-day visit.

The United States is a leader in education with many world-renowned schools. During the visiting trip, students from the High School Affiliated to Shanghai University visited many Ivy League Schools, including Harvard University, Yale University, Columbia University, Princeton University and other world- renowned schools such as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The students experienced the characteristics of education in developed countries, which stimulated their driving force of learning.
